Internet Access eDevice Technology SmartStack New eDevice Technology's SmartStack software lets you easily and inexpensively connect any piece of equipment to the Internet. It uses a single DSP (digital signal processor) to initiate the modem software and the Internet protocols stack software (PPP, TCP/IP, SMTP, POP3, FTP, HTTP) at the same time. Devices with SmartStack can send and receive e-mail, transfer files and perform remote-command and -control functions. According to eDevice, SmartStack can be implemented in a vending machine, for example, to notify a supplier when stock is running low. Other applications include having SmartStack monitor a home security or sprinkler system. Because SmartStack is inexpensive to enable--as low-cost as a few dollars per unit--it's very flexible, the company says.
Available: Now Pricing is set per customer.
