Director -- Business Application Delivery
Is responsible for managing the design, development, release, and maintenance of business application systems for business functions enterprise-wide (or in a designated major area of business -- e.g., US, international, subsidiary). The incumbent works closely with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify users' information requirements and seek opportunities to build systems based on new computing architectures (e.g., client/server, intranet, Web) that will improve business processes and support critical business strategies, while at the same time educating the work force in the strategic use of technology in the business. This position generally reports directly to the CIO (or equivalent) and works closely with software engineering, operations, and other IT functional areas that enable multiplatform application development.
Manager -- Business Application Delivery
Reports to the Director, Business Application Delivery and is responsible for planning and managing all activities within an assigned business unit/area, including multiple application development, maintenance, and enhancement projects utilizing a variety of new computing architectures (e.g., client/server, intranet, Web) or mainframe platforms. Each incumbent leads efforts of several Business Application Developers who are responsible for managing subunits/areas or specific projects. The individual occupying this position collaborates with company customers, staff, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify customer requirements, assess impacts to other data and systems, consider available technologies, compare costs and benefits, and recommend solutions. Incumbents act as general contractors on projects and populate project teams with specialists in a variety of technical areas to ensure results meet negotiated customer expectations and adhere to internal standards and strategies.
Senior Business Application Developer
Is an individual contributor to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications, providing specialized technical or business knowledge to the project. Inhabitants of this position are assigned to projects within an assigned business unit or corporate department and utilize a variety of new computing architectures (e.g., client/server, intranet, Web) or mainframe platforms. Under the guidance of a Manager, Business Application Delivery, they collaborate with company customers, staff, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to define detailed customer requirements and systems interfaces, assess available technologies, and develop and present solutions. Incumbents act as internal consultants, providing technical guidance or business process expertise on the most complex projects or researching strategic planning matters from a technical or business standpoint.
Business Application Developer
Is responsible for participating in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications. Is assigned to project teams within an assigned business unit or corporate department and utilize a variety of client/server (or mainframe) platforms. Under the leadership and tactical supervision of a project leader, incumbents collaborate with company customers, staff, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify user requirements, assess available technologies, and recommend solution options.
b. SAP Projects
Basis Administrator (Configuration Manager)
Is responsible for the technical performance characteristics of an SAP environment, including network, database, and application server performance. SAP Basis Administrators commonly perform activities similar to those of Systems Administrators, Network Administrators, Database Administrators, and Configuration Managers (in the context of the SAP environment). Inhabitants of this position are assigned to technical infrastructure and operations support teams and utilize a variety of client/server platforms. Incumbents interact with the SAP implementation staff, other IT staff, and other stakeholders to analyze proposed changes to SAP technical configuration settings to optimize overall performance.
ABAP/4 Developer
Is responsible for participating in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of SAP applications. Assigned to project teams within an assigned business unit or corporate department and utilize a variety of client/server platforms. Under the leadership and tactical supervision of a project leader, incumbents collaborate with company customers, staff, IT, and other stakeholders to identify user requirements, assess available technologies, and recommend solution options. Must be thoroughly familiar with the ABAP/4 language, Development Environment, Data Dictionary, and Correction and Transport System. Must have a solid understanding of modern programming techniques, fourth-generation languages, and Structured Query Language (SQL). They are familiar with SAP project management techniques, may have project leadership responsibility for SAP module areas or regularly coach other team members, and may plan work for others to meet project deadlines.
Module Configurer
Module Configurers are responsible for participating in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the functional areas of an SAP package. Inhabitants of this position are assigned to project teams within an assigned business unit or corporate department and utilize a variety of client/server platforms. Incumbents collaborate with company customers, staff, IT, and other stakeholders to identify user requirements, assess available technologies, and recommend solution options. Individuals in this job position are competent to perform work at the highest technical level within one or more functional areas and are familiar with project management techniques. They ensure that SAP functions are customized to meet business needs/processes and apply a broad knowledge of various functions to accurately anticipate organizational impacts.
Process Designer
A Process Designer is responsible for participating in the planning, development, maintenance, and enhancement of SAP applications. Inhabitants of this position are assigned to project teams and utilize a variety of client/server platforms. Under the leadership and tactical supervision of a project leader, incumbents collaborate with company customers, staff, IT, and other stakeholders to identify user requirements, assess available technologies, and recommend solution options according to the activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products. The main challenge to a process designer is to assess overall business objectives within one or more process groups and design business processes in such a way that they may be effectively modeled and configured within the SAP environment.
c. E-Mail/Lotus Notes Delivery
Director -- E-Mail/Notes Group
Has overall responsibility and accountability for the design, development, release, and maintenance of e-mail/Notes application delivery system and services for all company business functions. Works closely with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify and maximize opportunities to utilize e-mail/Notes to improve business processes, promote the strategic use of groupware and workflow technology, and enable the work force to use Notes collaborative application technology. Provides the corporate leadership, vision, and direction for e-mail/Notes-based systems, ensuring support of the company's business objectives and requirements. Has key responsibility for ensuring organizational balance and systems coherency between client/customer support and server/network activities. Ensures corporate integration with personal productivity applications, legacy databases, and existing e-mail systems.
E-Mail/Notes Project Manager -- Server/Network
Is responsible for managing the team that specifies and manages the server, network services, and associated systems integration pieces of the e-mail/Notes application delivery system. Maintains the database "back end," helping ensure information access and currency, and providing integration across platforms and from links to other data sources (e.g., Web). Works with IT/business account managers and/or directly with business customers in developing requirements and design specifications, and then refining the conceptual systems design requirements into a technical design. Has primary responsibility for the server/network processing performance of the e-mail/Notes system. Is accountable for developing information security standards, procedures, and guidelines related to e-mail/Notes, and for implementing programs for user awareness, training, and compliance monitoring. Develops disaster recovery plans.
E-Mail/Notes Project Manager -- Client/Customer Support
Is responsible for managing the team that specifies, develops, and manages the client end of e-mail/Notes. Has primary project management responsibility, including financial/budget management and controlling project costs. Works closely with users to determine how e-mail/Notes might assist in addressing their needs then translates these needs into requirements and designs. Supervises all aspects of e-mail/Notes client interface development, providing technical expertise and direction, and functioning as intermediary systems integrator between e-mail/Notes front-end and back-ends. Focuses on platform, security, and alternative interfaces. Manages guru-level management scientist who constantly searches for creative ways to elevate the utility of e-mail/Notes in business processes in combination with emerging technologies such as groupweb (internal groupware) services.
Senior E-Mail/Notes Architect
Is responsible for overall design and optimization of the e-mail/Notes network, and the creation of the model for corporate and SBU/departmental application servers. Knowledgeable in all aspects of designing and constructing e-mail/Notes applications and network systems that enable information access and management of well-integrated, subject-oriented data. Comfortable in developing requirements and design specifications for new and existing e-mail/Notes databases. Focuses on database and template modeling, network design, directories, mail routing, and replication issues. Continually balances optimization of data/information access with resource utilization factors.
Senior E-Mail/Notes Engineer -- Server/Network
Is responsible for ensuring optimal information access, providing consistency and synchronization across all platforms, and for integration with other systems and technologies. Works with e-mail/Notes team, account managers, and consultants to refine the conceptual application delivery systems design requirements into a technical design consisting of program specifications. Is responsible for system performance optimization, maintenance, and production support. Works with other e-mail/Notes team members in solving the range of enterprise interoperability and integration issues that may exist in the e-mail/Notes environment.
Senior E-Mail/Notes Engineer -- Client/Customer Support
Provides deep technical expertise and direction in the development and support of e-mail/Notes client application/customer interface. Acts as intermediary application delivery systems integrator between client and server back end, focusing on common information-sharing needs and leveraging information demand with back-end server/network capabilities. Is responsible for design and support of all client interface components of the e-mail/Notes front end, in close partnership with customers. Participates in, and supervises when necessary, all phases of the development cycle.
E-Mail/Notes Quality Assurance Auditor
Has primary responsibility for creating and implementing a methodology for testing new or existing e-mail/Notes systems and applications and ensure upward compatibility to future e-mail/Notes versions. Tests and implements new e-mail/Notes software releases. Coordinates rollout of new releases with business unit administrators. Designs procedures to purge/archive old data (if desired) and maintain Notes information currency. Supports e-mail/Notes applications as required by optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing timely follow-up on problem reports.
E-Mail/Notes Information Security Manager
Is responsible for developing, maintaining, and publishing corporate information security standards, procedures, and guidelines for IT systems across all platforms. Provides technical guidance and training to information "owners," corporate security officers, and IT associates, and designs and implements programs for user awareness, compliance monitoring, and security compliance. Is responsible for disaster recovery and business continuation planning. Implements upgrades, repairs, modifications, and replacements of information security devices or software.
Senior Notes Analyst
Analyzes user community's business functions and processes to determine how Notes can assist in addressing needs, then translates these needs into systems and application delivery requirements and designs. Participates in, and supervises when necessary, all phases of the client/customer support development life cycle. Is primary contact with business community for education, training, support, and Notes application performance monitoring. Works closely with LOB power users in educating the end-user community on the value of Notes and takes initiative in quantifying benefits of information/knowledge sharing with Notes.
Notes Management Scientist
Is responsible for increasing the quality of the information-sharing and decision-making capabilities of e-mail/Notes application delivery systems. Uses heuristic approaches to problem solving and creative systems design to capitalize on emerging collaborative application and DSS enabling technologies, and maintains close partnerships with senior managers to better understand their information needs. Develops advanced corporate models for collaborative computing, groupware/workflow, and corporate intelligence gathering that can be leveraged by emerging information sharing and DSS/EIS technologies. Designs and develops e-mail/Notes components that use new technologies to enhance decision-making capabilities.
Notes Administrator
Provides deep technical expertise and direction in the development and support of e-mail/Notes client application/customer interface. Develops systems support and maintenance function. Participates in all phases of the e-mail/Notes client application development cycle, also assisting Senior E-Mail/Notes Engineer as intermediary systems integrator between e-mail/Notes client front end and server back end. Is responsible for supporting employee relocations and for ongoing support of local business LAN administrators and future implementations.
Notes Programmer
Notes Programmer assists with technical expertise and direction in developing and supporting system-level programs, and interfacing with customers on requirements. Participates in all phases of the Notes development cycle. Executes directives of Senior Engineer in production support and maintenance of Notes servers and network connectivity, and is involved in system performance optimization and interoperability issues. Plans and implements hardware and software upgrades to hub servers as needed. Maintains disaster recovery server site. Executes maintenance plans for hub server locations and ensures Notes database and network optimization.
d. Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
e-Care Executive
Is responsible for Web customer service operations, including integration of call center activities with enterprise call center methodologies and procedures. Individual has extensive interaction with enterprise marketing activities. Ensures that customer service for Web customers is provided at the same level as for standard call center. Reports to Chief Customer Officer (CCO).
Customer Segment Manager
Is responsible for analyzing customer profiles and extracting data for determining segment marketing requirements. Extensive interaction with enterprise sales and marketing. May report to Chief Customer Officer (CCO) or EC Chief.
CIC (Customer Interaction Center) Channel Management and Analysis
Responsible for analysis of channel marketing activities maintained through the customer information center system. Interacts extensively with sales and marketing staff as well as CRM personnel.
CRM Targeted Marketing Campaign Manager
Uses CRM system as tool for specific, targeted marketing efforts through given sales channel. Extensive interaction with sales and marketing staff as well as CRM management.
CRM Program Director
Is responsible for managing the cost, schedule, scope, function, and risk across all projects in the CRM program. Is responsible for value assessment, including risk/opportunity analysis. Operates and maintains a learning foundation throughout the organization and people to complement the process. Provides value assessment (overall spending versus overall benefits) of the CRM program as a whole. Establishes budget-tracking mechanisms to include all projects plus PMO-specific activities. Structures cross-project coordination of efforts by Program Managers. Position reports to Chief Customer Officer; all Program Managers report to this position.
CRM Applications Administrator
Is responsible for administering CRM applications on a daily basis, including security/rights and process changes. Position reports to Manager of Production Support, or Manager of Center of Excellence.
CRM Applications Architect
Is responsible for the overall architectural design of CRM applications, including how they inter-operate in the CRM ecosystem. Is responsible for platform selection and design. This position could also serve as the project manager for the CRM Technology Infrastructure project. Position reports to the CRM Program Director.
CRM Integration Specialist
Is responsible for the construction and implementation of the CRM integration strategy. Position works closely with CRM Applications Architect on the integration strategy and design. Position reports to the Project Manager, CRM Technology Infrastructure project.
CRM Business Data Analyst
Is responsible for analyzing data produced by CRM system, including customer information, call patterns, demographics, responses to channel marketing initiatives, etc. Ensures data delivery to appropriate business elements, e.g., sales, marketing, fulfillment, accounting. Extensive interaction with CRM and LOB staff.
Customer Information Center Manager
Manages CIC staff and establishes call center activity. Responsible for configuring the automatic call distribution (ACD) system to automatically distribute calls uniformly among CRM customer service representatives. Makes necessary changes in staffing based on day of week, sales promotions, other anticipated events, and ACD data. Reports to e-care Executive.
Customer Information Center Supervisor
Supervises and coordinates activities of employees responsible for providing customer support services. Maintains call distribution schedule, coordinates work schedules for CRM customer service representatives. Reports to CIC Manager.

Works with IT/business account managers or directly with business customers in developing requirements and design specifications and then refining the conceptual systems design requirements into a technical design. Has primary responsibility for the data processing performance of the DW. Is accountable for developing DW corporate information security standards, procedures, and guidelines and for implementing programs for user awareness, training, and compliance monitoring. Develops disaster recovery and business continuation plans.
Data Warehouse Project Manager -- Front-End Services
Is responsible for managing the team that develops the DSS/EIS front end of the data warehouse, including design and support of concise executive information systems for senior management. Has primary project management responsibility, including financial/budget management and control of project costs. Works closely with the user community in determining how decision support systems might assist in addressing their needs, then translates these needs into systems requirements and designs. Supervises all phases of the decision support systems development life cycle, providing deep technical expertise/direction and functioning as intermediary systems integrator between desktop/client and all DW server back ends. Is responsible for metadata and third-tier middleware server layer. Focuses on tuning common warehouse queries and leveraging information demand. Manages guru-level management scientists who constantly search for creative ways to elevate the decision-making capabilities of the DSS(s), in part by capitalizing on emerging technologies.
Senior Data Warehouse Architect
Is responsible for overall DW design, balancing optimization of data access with batch loading and resource utilization factors. Is knowledgeable in all aspects of designing and constructing data warehouses, operational data stores, and data marts that enable informational, analytical management inquiry of well-integrated, subject-oriented historical data. Is comfortable in rapid application development (RAD) techniques and in developing requirements and design specifications for new and existing data warehouses. Focuses primarily on data modeling and database design, with additional responsibility for business analysis, data acquisition and access analysis and design, DBMS optimization, recovery strategy and load strategy design, and implementation. Serves as team leader in the integration of solutions, constructing data warehouse applications, developing new business opportunities, and building relationships with clients. Has a visionary role.
Senior Data Warehouse Engineer
Is responsible for currency, quality, and integrity of the data in the data warehouse (to the extent possible given data "ownership" realities) and for providing consistency and synchronization across all platforms. Works with DW team, DBAs, and consultants to refine the conceptual systems design requirements into a technical design consisting of job flows and program specifications. Provides deep technical expertise and direction in the development and support of decision support systems and OLAP. Is intermediary systems integrator between desktop/client and all DW server back ends, focusing on tuning common warehouse queries and leveraging information demand with back-end processing capabilities. Is responsible for design and support of all client/server components of the data warehouse front end, in close partnership with customers. Participates in, and supervises when necessary, all phases of the development cycle. Is a specialist with expertise in DSS tools, working closely with customers to determine their strategic information requirements and subsequently measure performance against expectations. Is senior-level application systems developer capable of working independently or with a team of other developers to develop a data warehouse client/server application.
Senior EIS Analyst
Is responsible for the design and support of concise executive information systems (EISs) that fulfill the succinct requirements of senior management, derived from insights on the direction, strategy, and information requirements of the corporation and lines of business (LOBs). Is intermediary systems integrator between client and DW server back end, focusing on leveraging executive information demand with back-end capabilities. Works closely with project team, vendors, and other IT projects to ensure technical compatibility and integration. Provides overall technical direction of DW projects to creatively implement EIS applications.
Data Warehouse Management Scientist
Is responsible for increasing the quality of the decision-making capabilities of decision support systems. Uses heuristic approaches to problem solving, uses creative systems design to capitalize on emerging DSS/EIS enabling technologies, and maintains close partnerships with senior management to better understand their information needs. Develops advanced corporate models for data analysis and corporate intelligence gathering that can be leveraged by emerging DSS/EIS technologies. Is a superb communicator and negotiator with well-honed marketing and product development knowledge and skills, who has the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the DW team's knowledge of, and concern for, customers' business needs.
Data Warehouse Programmer
Provides technical expertise and direction in developing and supporting system-level programs, and interfacing with customers on requirements. Participates in all phases of the DW development cycle. Codes, tests, and implements complex programs; develops appropriate programs and systems documentation according to established IT standards. Is responsible for production support and maintenance of the data warehouse, and works with the team on system performance optimization and interoperability issues.
Data Warehouse Administrator
Provides technical expertise in the design, development, and support of all client/server layers and components of the data warehouse front end. Develops systems support and maintenance function. Participates in all phases of the DSS development cycle as intermediary systems integrator between client and DW server back end. Is responsible for metadata and third-tier server layer. Focuses on tuning common warehouse queries and leveraging information demand. Is comparable to a senior-level application systems developer capable of working independently or with a team of other developers to develop a data warehouse client/server application.
Data Warehouse Auditor
Has primary responsibility for ensuring the currency, quality, and integrity of the data in the data warehouse and for providing consistency and synchronization across all platforms. Makes sure data is clean and consistent and that it is synchronized across platforms. Maintains metadata and the data dictionary and helps determine systems programming requirements, verify system performance, and analyze and evaluate service requests. Aids in planning and conducting decision support systems tests, monitoring test results, and taking required corrective action.
b. Database/Data Administration
Senior Systems Programmer -- RDBMS (MDDBMS)
This position has technical and systems administration duties for relational database management system (RDBMS) or multidimensional database management system (MDDBMS) software, data, and data spaces in one or more computing environments (e.g., Unix, MVS, NT, OS/2, intranet, Web). Works alone and as a team member on technical functions associated with creating and maintaining databases: performance and tuning analysis; capacity planning, workload modeling, and prediction; systems support; long-term strategic planning; application support and optimization; problem resolution tracking; and software upgrades. Ensures high-level support for an RDBMS/MDDBMS environment and provides backup DBA responsibilities.
Database Administrator
Has primary responsibility for the definition, creation, and maintenance of the enterprise data model within the new computing environments (e.g., Unix, NT, intranet, Web). Analyzes, tests, and implements physical database design supporting various business applications (including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, and operational guidelines). Ensures data recovery, maintenance, data integrity, and space requirements for physical database are met through formulation and monitoring of policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management. Provides a high degree of coordination between user, technical, application, and corporate entities to ensure effective data management as a corporate enterprise. Above all, ensures solutions meet business objectives, and establishes and maintains a high level of user trust and confidence in IT's knowledge of and concern for users' business needs. Has a willingness to work with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in a high-pressure, complex environment.
Storage Capacity/Performance Planning -- Servers
Works alone and as a team member to ensure capacity and performance for servers. Ensures sufficient storage capacity, performs workload modeling, and formulates predictions for future use and availability of server systems. Is responsible for developing and implementing server backup processes and procedures. Provides server systems support, application support/optimization, problem resolution tracking, and upgrades. Ensures that servers are continually available. Provides data recovery, maintenance, and backup processes and ensures space requirements are met by formulating and monitoring policies, procedures, and standards relating to server management. Coordinates systems programming, risk management, and systems operations staffs to ensure continuous availability of all servers and peripheral devices.

Vendor Manager
Provides a relationship management role with vendors that provide services to the IT organization. Depending on the organization, may report to either a Director of Enterprise Operations, the CIO, or to a Director of Procurement. Acts as the business agent for the IT organization to negotiate pricing and determine contract terms and conditions.
Contract Administrator *
Maintains and organizes databases and files related to executed contracts. Ensures timeliness and quality of documentation, for IT inventory and system transactions. Has strong problem-solving and logical analysis skills, as well as substantial technical background. Supervises help desk staff to provide direction and attain support objectives. Coordinates user and support issues among corporate sites to ensure timely distribution of knowledge and positive impact on user satisfaction and productivity. Develops reporting measures for help desk activity. Develops IT end-user support procedures and trains/guides staff in their use, including total inquiry resolution process. Senior Business Technology Consultant
Business specialist and technology generalist responsible for aligning technology solutions with business strategies. Works principally with client senior management in the business units and corporate staff executives. Partners with the functional groups within the IT organization to communicate and clarify business needs, contribute to development of long-range systems plans, and ensure products and services are aligned with business needs. Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost versus benefit measurements; brokers other IT services; and communicates trends and requirements to and from customers and IT.
