Report Card

Our RFP requirements for this review were simple: Network Computing has locations across the country, and many of our staffers travel often. We want secure access to our production network for common applications like e-mail and our intranet. In addition, several of our technology editors work remotely, often with client-server applications that are not Web-enabled. And because our users could be coming from dial-up or broadband, from remote LANs or behind firewalls and even NAT devices, we must support all connection types.

In addition, we need to communicate with freelancers and contributing editors, and we can't always dictate what software they should be running. We're also seeking a way to easily manage what sometimes is a fluid user base. Integration with existing user databases or easy user management is critical.
