D-Link promises its new USB hub will deliver speeds up to 40 times faster than conventional hubs. This USB/FireWire combo hub lets you use up to four USB 2.0 and three IEEE 1394 FireWire ports to support such hardware as DVD drives, printers or digital cameras, with data-transfer speeds stated to be up to 480 Mbps. Additional hubs can be daisy-chained to support multiple devices. It is not necessary to install drivers to use the plug-and-play hub, and both PC and Macintosh OSs are supported. $49.99. ConceptDraw Professional 1.8.5
Computer Systems Odessa has released a Windows-compatible version of its diagramming software, ConceptDraw. Offering over 2,700 predrawn objects, including complex organizational charts and electronic circuitry schematics, ConceptDraw can help users create visual reports to document processes, systems and structures. Files can then be imported to AutoCAD, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat or saved as HTML pages. Steam Platform 3.10
Clear Methods, an XML and Web services technology provider, has released version 3.10 of its Steam Web services platform. Included in

this release are enhanced database access and extended XML that eliminates the need for wrappers when implementing Web services applications. The platform includes Steam IDE tools and editor, and the Steam Engine runtime environment. OStivity 3.0
Physical asset tracking is made easier with version 3.0 of Somix Technologies' OStivity software. Additions include the capability to inventory hardware and software, and to limit access to tools and data by user or group. OStivity supports Microsoft, Linux, Solaris and Macintosh operating systems. Bar codes, which are read through a Hewlett-Packard/Compaq IPAQ scanner, can include information such as the equipment owner, vendor, price and warranty information.
