Cisco Systems' Cisco 776 is a powerful ISDN router built to address the needs of any SOHO (small-office/home-office) user. Cisco offers a built-in four-port Ethernet hub, letting users connect directly to the router without the need for clumsy external components. The router also features Stac compression for fast data transfers to corporate servers and the Internet.

The 776's two interfaces and strong POTS support deftly accommodate advanced call-handling features such as call transfer, call waiting, hold, three-way conferencing and distinctive ringing. The POTS interface also permits the routing of calls to specific ports, rejecting calls when data channels are busy and borrowing B channels from a Multilink PPP session during a voice conversation.

To trim the high cost of management, Cisco offers strong ISDN diagnostics so users can troubleshoot setup problems themselves. To further curb the cost of ownership of the ISDN router, the 776 includes NAT (Network Address Translation) to help consolidate IP addresses at the ISP into one inexpensive IP account.
